Sell Used Bus Plugs

Selling used plug-in units is mostly an identification problem. The amp rating on the cover tells us surprisingly little on its own; what sets the price is the busway line the unit fits, and that is stamped on the nameplate along with the manufacturer, the voltage and usually a catalog number. One clear photograph of that plate is worth more to us than a paragraph of description, and it is why our quotes normally come back the same day.

If the nameplate is gone, which happens often enough on older units, we work from the housing instead. The shape of the case, the latch arrangement, the handle design and the stab configuration identify a line reliably to somebody who handles this equipment weekly. Photograph the unit from the front and from the side, include anything hand-written on the cover, and we will take it from there.

What we will never do is ask you to prove the unit works. No testing, no megger readings, no certification, no cleanup. We grade physical condition ourselves, from your photos first and in person at removal. If a unit turns out to be recovery-grade rather than resale-grade we say so up front, and we still buy it.

What to send us

• A straight-on photo of the nameplate, close enough to read.
• One wide shot showing how many units there are.
• A photo of the busway itself if the plugs are still installed.
• Anything hand-written on the covers, such as amps or circuit numbers.
• The ceiling height and the route from the run to a dock or door.
• Your deadline, if a demolition or shutdown date is driving it.

The terms are the same on every purchase

Payment before removal. Our crew and our rigging. Our freight. No testing and no certification asked of you at any point. Those four things do not change with the size of the job, the age of the equipment or how far away you happen to be.

How the removal actually goes

We walk the run with you or from your photographs, agree the sequence, and schedule around your production. On the day, our crew confirms isolation with your electrician or ours, pulls the plugs first, then unbolts the duct from the hangers in the longest sections the building will let us carry out. Everything is crated or palletised on site and loaded onto our own truck.

Nothing in that process requires anything from you beyond site access and a point of contact. You do not supply labor, lifts, crating, a forklift or a carrier, and you do not sign off on the condition of any unit.
