What moves the number on ITE equipment
- Amp rating, and whether it is a common frame size.
- Whether the busway line is still in production or discontinued.
- Copper versus aluminum bus, which moves the metal floor.
- Whether the handle throws and the interlock still engages.
- Stab condition: clean, or burned and pitted.
- Indoor storage versus years of weather and standing water.

Straight answers
Do you only buy ITE equipment?
No. We buy every manufacturer, and unlabeled equipment as well. The brand and the busway line affect the resale pool and therefore the price, but they never determine whether we are interested.
My ITE nameplate is missing. Is that a problem?
Not a serious one. Photograph the unit from the front and the side instead. Housing shape, latch style, stab configuration and handle design identify a line reliably, and we do this every week.
Is older ITE equipment worth anything?
Frequently more than newer equipment. When a line is discontinued the used market becomes the only source, and the plants still running it have no alternative. Age is not the deciding factor; condition and the size of the installed base are.
