What we look for in bus duct & busway runs
Bus duct is where the dismantling side of this business earns its keep. A busway run is bolted to structure overhead, it is heavy, it is awkward, and getting it down safely takes lifts, riggers and somebody who has done it before. Most sellers do not want to touch it, and most buyers do not want to pay for the labor. We do both.
We buy feeder busway and plug-in busway in copper and aluminum, from 225 amp up through 5000 amp, along with all the fittings that make a run usable again: elbows, offsets, tees, cable tap boxes, end closures, hangers and the flanged ends that mate to switchgear. Straight lengths in ten foot sections are the backbone of resale, but fittings often carry a higher price per piece because they are the parts that are impossible to source when a plant needs to extend an existing run.
Keep runs as long as your structure allows rather than cutting them into short sections. Length preserves resale value, and cutting it up is the single most expensive mistake a seller can make with bus duct. If a run has to come down in a hurry, call us before the torch comes out and we will schedule a crew around your date.
