What we look for in circuit breaker plug-in units
A breaker plug-in unit carries a molded case circuit breaker instead of a fuse block, and that breaker is frequently worth more than the enclosure around it. When we price one of these we are really pricing two things at once: the plug-in housing that fits a particular busway line, and the breaker inside it as a standalone resale item.
That means the breaker manufacturer and frame matter a great deal. A unit built around a current, in-demand molded case breaker is a strong number. A unit built around an obsolete breaker that nobody stocks is priced mostly on the housing. We know which is which and we will tell you plainly which side of that line your units fall on, because there is no benefit to us in being vague about it.
Photograph the breaker nameplate through the open cover if you safely can, or just photograph the outside labels and let us work it out. We do not need the unit racked in, powered up or tested. Our crew removes them during the dismantle and they travel crated upright so the stabs stay square.
