01You Are Paid Before It Moves

Funds change hands before a single section leaves your property. There is no consignment and no waiting on a downstream resale.

02We Do The Dismantling

Our own crew takes the run down. You are not sourcing riggers, renting lifts or chasing a carrier who has never handled busway before.

03No Testing, Ever

You are never asked to test, megger or certify anything. We grade from physical condition and the nameplate. That is the entire process.

04Mixed Lots Are Welcome

Fusible plugs, breaker units, bus duct, tap boxes, panelboards and starters all on one job is the normal case rather than the exception.

The instinct when you have equipment to sell is to look for somebody close, on the theory that a shorter haul means a better price. With busway it usually works the other way around. A local scrap dealer prices your plugs by weight, because weight is the only market they serve. A specialist prices them by what a plant still running that busway line will pay for a working unit, which on a discontinued line is frequently several times the metal value.

We work in every state and we absorb the freight out of regional staging points, so the mileage between us and your facility affects our margin rather than your number. A pickup at a rural mill gets the same offer logic as one at a metro distribution center. What proximity does change is scheduling: equipment sitting on a lane we already run can often be collected within days rather than weeks.

The more useful question is not how close a buyer is but what they actually do when they arrive. Ask whether they bring a crew or expect the equipment to be down and crated already. Ask who owns the lift rental. Ask whether payment happens before or after they resell it. Those three answers separate a real buyer from a broker with a phone.

What to ask any equipment buyer

  • Do you send your own crew, or do I have to get it down myself?
  • Who pays for the lift, the rigging and the freight?
  • Do you pay before the equipment leaves my property, or after you resell it?
  • Will you ask me to test or certify anything?
  • Will the quoted price be re-traded when your truck arrives?
  • Do you resell this equipment, or are you quoting me scrap weight under another name?

The terms are the same on every purchase

Payment before removal. Our crew and our rigging. Our freight. No testing and no certification asked of you at any point. Those four things do not change with the size of the job, the age of the equipment or how far away you happen to be.

How the removal actually goes

We walk the run with you or from your photographs, agree the sequence, and schedule around your production. On the day, our crew confirms isolation with your electrician or ours, pulls the plugs first, then unbolts the duct from the hangers in the longest sections the building will let us carry out. Everything is crated or palletised on site and loaded onto our own truck.

Nothing in that process requires anything from you beyond site access and a point of contact. You do not supply labor, lifts, crating, a forklift or a carrier, and you do not sign off on the condition of any unit.

Bus Plug Buyers Near Me: common questions

Straight answers

Do you charge anything to quote or to remove the equipment?

No. Quoting is free and the removal is our cost. If you accept our number, nothing comes out of your pocket at any stage.

How quickly can this happen?

A number usually comes back the same day you send photos. Removal is typically within one to two weeks, and faster when a demolition date or a plant shutdown is driving the schedule.

What if I only have a few plugs?

That is still worth a call. Small quantities are frequently best combined into one lot, and we buy single units and partial runs routinely rather than only taking whole systems.

Do you buy in every state?

Yes, all 50 states and the District of Columbia. We stage crews and freight regionally, so your location affects our scheduling rather than your price.
